CODIN Fails in the FAPCODIN Cobol Step With 'Return Code: 08622', and Error Message 'Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'SFA_ENRLINT_PELL' (Doc ID 3023917.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 05, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to run CODIN to load inbound Pell or Loan files processed by COD,  the process is not successful, with the following error occurring with the FAPCODIN cobol:

Return Code: 08622

Error Message : [Microsoft][ODBC Driver 13 for SQL Server][SQL Server]Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'SFA_ENRLINT_PELL'

The cobol log file will show the lines above, as part of a more comprehensive error message.

The issue was reported first when processing for Aid Year 2023-2024, but the issue will presumably affect any year being processed.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > File Management > COD Full Participant > Import COD Response Data > Common Origination and Disbursement Inbound and run the process.
  2. Click the link to Process Monitor and refresh until the error occurs.
  3. Drill into the two part process to verify that the FAPCODIN step is the problem. Click the 'Details' link for that process, then the link that says 'View Log/Trace, and finally the cobol .log file in the file list to verify the error messages.

Changes

The issue occurs after applying PeopleSoft Release Patchset (PRP), Patch 35950393: 2024-2025 AID YEAR COD UPDATE: COMMON OBJECTS
