E-PIA: After Upgrade to PT 8.60, Search Pages Return Results in the Search Grid After Errors are Encountered (Doc ID 3025889.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.


After upgrading to PeopleTools (PT) 8.60, search pages continue returning results in search grid even after errors occur.

On the other hand, when testing in the pre-upgrade environment (PT 8.58), search results are not shown in the search grid of search pages when errors occur.


Step to replicate to the following: 


Note: The tests below were performed in PT 8.60.07/FSCM 9.2 PI 48, and PT 8.58.05/FSCM 9.2 PI 37 environments.


1. Log into Application Designer in the PT 8.60.xx evironment, and open the component below.

   Delivered Component PAYMENT_ENTRY.GBL

   Search Record: DEPOSIT_NP_VW and Add Search record: DEPOSIT_CONTROL


2. Add the following error validation code at the component record level PAYMENT_ENTRY.GBL.DEPOSIT_NP_VW.SearchSave, and save.

    Error MsgGet(0,0,"Test for search issue");


3. Log into PIA, and navigate to the following page in the PT 8.60 environment:

    Main Menu > Accounts Receivable > Payments > Online Payments > Regular Deposit

4. Enter a business unit, as it is a mandatory field, and click on Search.

5. Observe that in spite of the error, a list of search results is returned, along with the error message, and the user is able to take action.

    The validation code added above should prevent the results from being displayed in the search grid.

6. Repeat the steps above in the PT 8.58 environment.

    Observe that no results are displayed.
