Institutional EFC Override Amount(s), Specified for Non Standard Award Period, Are Not Updating Non Standard EFC in Need Summary (Doc ID 3036464.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 21, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On the Institutional EFC Override sub-page, after entering an amount(s) in the Non-Standard PC and/or Non-Standard SC fields, then clicking the 'INAS' button on one of the main Maintain Application 2024-2025 pages, the override amount(s) are not updating the Institutional EFC amount on the row for the Non Standard Award Period. The field may show an amount (assuming the INAS calculation was invoked with a budget duration value specified for the non-standard period), but the amount is the normal prorated amount based on the non standard months, instead of the expected override amount.

The EFC override DOES get correctly applied to the academic need summary, and the computational summary totals are also updated correctly.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > Institutional Application Data > Maintain Application 2024-2025 and search for an existing Profile application record.
  2. Click the 'IM' link and populate the desired Option Rule Set.
  3. Click the 'Override Institutional EFC' link and enter an amount(s) in the Non-Standard PC and/or Non-Standard SC fields, and check the 'Use EFC Override Values' box.
  4. Click 'OK twice to go back to the main application page and click the 'INAS' button.
  5. On Computation Summary tab, note the override amounts are correctly reflected in the totals.
  6. Click 'Need Summary' link and note the override amount is correctly reflected in the EFC in the Institutional column on the Academic period row.
  7. Click 'View All' or 'Next' arrow to view the Non Standard period row and note the override amount is NOT correctly reflected in the EFC in the Institutional column.
