E-PN: When a Push Notification is Triggered in the Content Provider DB, it is not Seen in the Notification Panel of the Portal DB if a Load Balancer is in Front of the Web Servers in a Portal Clustered Environment (Doc ID 3037802.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 01, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.60 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The site is on PeopleTools (PT) 8.61 version, and has a portal clustered environment with Interaction Hub as the Portal, and HCM and FSCM DBs as the content provider DBs.

A Load balancer is in front of all the web servers. When a push notification is triggered in the content provider DB, if users log into the Portal DB, the notification is not seen in the Notification Panel.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Log into PIA of FSCM DB.

2. Navigate to PeopleTools > Process Scheduler > Schedule Process Requests.

3. Create a run control ID and run AEMINITEST application engine (AE) program.

4. Log into Portal.

5. Observe that there is no alert for the AE in the Notification Panel.
