E-CLOUD: CM 17 Automated Backup Fails When Taking the Block Volume with Error: Failed to compress BOOT volume directories/files: Error: tar : /usr/local/bin/terraform: Cannot stat: No such file or directory\ntar (Doc ID 3041041.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 19, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Cloud Manager - Version 17 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Before upgrading from Cloud Manager (CM) 17 to CM 18, an automated backup of both block volume and boot volume is initiated.

However, the block volume backup fails at "compress Boot Volume directories" step.

The following error appears on the same console where the backup script runs:

Failed to compress BOOT volume directories/files: Error: tar : /usr/local/bin/terraform: Cannot stat: No such file or directory\ntar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log into CM through SSH.
2. Run the backup script: sh cm_backup_restore.sh -o backup -n
