E-PIA: Leading Zeros Being Truncated When Dowloading From Grid to Excel For Fields That Only Contain Numeric Data (Doc ID 3042916.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 28, 2025

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.60 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When downloading from a grid to Excel, the leading zeros are being truncated when the field has only numeric data.

For example, '000001' shows as '1' on the downloaded Excel file.

NOTE: The leading zeros remain if the field has at least one alphanumeric data.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to: Accounts Payable > Review Accounts Payable Info > Payment.
2. Set the Max Rows and Dates for the result to only contain numeric data for the field, then perform a search.
3. Download the grid information to Excel.
4. Notice that the leading zeros for the Payment Reference ID are truncated.
