E-SQR: Japanese Characters are not Displayed in the PDF Output Generated by SQR Report(s) (Doc ID 3049559.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to schedule sqr reports with output type/format Web/PDF, English characters are displayed instead of Japanese characters.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

SQR Report GLS8500
1. Navigate to General Ledger > Federal Reports > Federal Trial Balance.
2. Select an existing Run Control ID or create a new one.
3. From the language drop down list select Japanese language.
4. Select Refresh option and select for example an Account.
5. Run the delivered SQR Report GLS8500 with type/format Web/PDF.
6. Observe the output data are displayed in English language instead of Japanese language.

SQR Report FIN2001
1. Navigate to General Ledger > General Reports > Journal Entry Detail.
2. Select an existing Run Control ID or create a new one.
3. From the language drop down list select Japanese language.
4. Select Refresh option and select for example an Account.
5. Run the delivered SQR Report FIN2001 with type/format Web/PDF.
6. Observe the output data are displayed in English language instead of Japanese language.

SQR Report FIN2005
1. Navigate to General Ledger > General Reports > Journal Entry Attributes Rpt.
2. Select an existing Run Control ID or create a new one.
3. From the language drop down list select Japanese language.
4. Select Refresh option and select for example an Account.
5. Run the delivered SQR Report FIN2005 with type/format Web/PDF.
6. Observe the output data are displayed in English language instead of Japanese language.

SQR Report GLS7012
1. Navigate to General Ledger > General Reports > Print Trial Balance.
2. Select an existing Run Control ID or create a new one.
3. From the language drop down list select Japanese language.
4. Select Refresh option and select for example an Account.
5. Run the delivered SQR Report GLS7012 with type/format Web/PDF.
6. Observe the output data are displayed in English language instead of Japanese language.

Changes

 Upgrade from PeopleTools version 8.59 to PeopleTools version 8.61.
