Federal Employee Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) Base Calculation Does Not Round Correctly (Doc ID 3059144.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 07, 2025

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Human Resources - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The Calculated Base for Federal Employee Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) is determined by multiplying the Earnings on a paycheck included in Basic Pay by the number of pay periods in the year rounded up to the next higher 1000 at .01 or above then increased by 2000. The current payroll calculation appears to be ignoring the rounding up portion of the formula, that is, the calculated amount is 1000 low, on the employee paychecks.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

     1. Create paysheets for employees enrolled in FEGLI (Navigation: Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing USF > Create and Load Paysheets > Create Paysheets).
     2. Calculate the payroll (Navigation: Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing USF > Produce Payroll > Calculate Payroll).
     3. Review the paycheck to see that the Calculated Base for the employee's Life Insurance is $1000 lower than it should be.
