Job Opening, Prepare For Hire - Issue When Period Is In First Name

Symptoms
The Internal Applicants that have no first name entered, for e.g. they have a period ‘.’ as the first name.
When clicking on Prepare for Hire from the Job Opening and click on Verify Employee ID, it returns "No Matches Found"
If by selecting the Submit Request to HR" it mentions that the First Name is Required and the Recruiter Administrator cannot continue.
Steps to replicate the issue:
1. Log in as Hiring Manager.
2. Navigation to Workforce Administration> Personal Information>Additional Names
Employee ‘.’ in First Name field for e.g.:
Last Name Piper
First Name .
3. Navigate to Recruiting > Search Applications
On Advanced Search Criteria enter
Application Status as Active
Disposition = 071 Offer Accepted
Job Opening Status = Open
Applicant Type = Employee
Click on Search
4. Click on Other Actions, Recruiting Actions, Prepare for Hire
5. Enter the required fields and click on Verify Employee ID
The message ‘Not matches found’ is displayed.
For no employees with Period on First Name.
6. Click on Other Actions, Recruiting Actions, Prepare for Hire
7. Enter the required fields and click on Submit Request to HR
The message “Field is Required: HRS_APP_NAME_I - FIRST_NAME_SRCH (124,64)” is displayed.
