Symptoms

Noticed a discrepancy with on line entry versus entry done using sql. On line lets the OPRDEFNDESC entry to be bigger than it should. Noticed when trying to troubleshoot instances in which people were having blank OPRDEFNDESC on psoprdefn. The value in OPRDEFNDESC should not be allowed to be larger than the 30 max value.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Attempt to change the value in OPRDEFNDESC on the backend and it will not work, there is no error however there is incorrect behavior
2. Navigate to PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > User Profiles online
3. Go to the ID tab and change User Description to a value more than the 30 max limit, this works.
