SFP: Retain Student Charges For Return to Title IV (R2T4) Calculations (Doc ID 3064191.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Return to Title IV (R2T4) calculations include charges assessed to the student. The charges required to correctly perform this calculation are what was charged to the student at the point of withdrawal.

Timing is proving to be an issue for this part of the R2T4 process. When a student drops all their courses, the tuition recalculation flag is triggered in CS and the student's tuition/charges adjusted accordingly that night. This often happens before a SAFI is loaded to SFP. If a SAFI were to load, another
issue is that the Term History screen is also likely to not yet have been updated to reflect the term withdrawal.

To expand on the scenario, if a student were enrolled for 12 credits and drops to 3 credits and subsequently drops the final course, the charges in place when the student was enrolled the three credits is what is necessary for the R2T4 calculation.
