(Doc ID 3066029.1)

Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Resource Management - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When a Staffing Coordinator User copies an existing Service Order to create a new one by means of the Save As function, the system automatically generates a new Service Order ID, defaults all the copied values, and populates the relevant tables. However, a problem has been detected with the Hours per Day field, (Record Field PS_RS_SO_LINE_DTS.SCHEDULED_HRS), which remains blank even after the Save Ad action has complete, while at the same time, in the Request Resources page, the same field is displaying a value of 8 Hours by default.
REPLICATION STEPS:
1.- Log into the FSCM 9.2 Online Application as a Resource Management User.
2.- Navigate to: Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Common Definitions > Resource Data > Setup Common Resource Options
3.- Ensure to have a value of 8 Hours into the 'Standard Hours per Work Day' field.
4.- Navigate to: Resource Management > Request Resources > Create or Review Service Order
5.- Create a brand new Service Order from scratch, and ensure that the 'Hours per Day' field within Resource Requests tab is populated with a value of 8 Hours.
6.- Save For Later the newly created Service Order.
7.- Query Record PS_RS_SO_LINE_DTS for the newly created Service Order, and confirm all is correctly populated, including Field SCHEDULED_HRS, containing a value of 8.
8.- Click on the Save and Submit button.
9.- Confirm that the Service Order Status is now set to OPEN.
10.- Click on the Save As button.
11.- The system automatically opens a new Window with the new Service Order transaction generated as a copy from the original one.
12.- Confirm that in the Resource Requests tab, the Hours per Day field is correctly displaying a value of 8.
13.- PROBLEM: Proceed to query again the Record PS_RS_SO_LINE_DTS for the new copied Service Order, and confirm that Field SCHEDULED_HRS is blank.
To gather more information concerning this scenario and its related problem, refer to the available Replication Steps PDF Document here linked containing the complete configuration and the replication steps necessary to reproduce the problem.
This creates great confusion for the Users, as in the Resource Requests tab online, the 'Hours per Day' field is properly displaying the expected value of 8, however, in the main tables, Record Field PS_RS_SO_LINE_DTS.SCHEDULED_HRS is blank. This causes problems when trying to generate Resource Assignments, update the Resources' Calendars accordingly with the new Assignment ID, and eventually the affected Resources' utilization statistics.
When the Save As action is used to copy an existing Service Order into a new one, the 'Hours per Day' value displayed should be brought over into the Record Field PS_RS_SO_LINE_DTS.SCHEDULED_HRS of the new transaction. It should not require for the User to manually save the Service Order a second, or further multiple times, for the Hours per Day field to eventually store the number of hours expected.
