E-ES: / E-OS: Getting Error "Search Definition "" is not Deployed. (280,261)" When Attempting to Perform Keyword Search on a Component, After Configuring It in Manage Configurable Search (Doc ID 3066926.1)

Symptoms

Getting error "Search Definition "" is not Deployed. (280,261)" when attempting to perform Keyword Search on a component, after configuring it in manage configurable search.

The issue was reproducible in the customer site with the following steps:
[Using the delivered Financials Component to Review Purchase Orders as an example]

Pre-requisites:
- Elasticsearch or OpenSearch is properly configured  
- Index PTPORTALREGISTRY (Menu Navigation) is deployed and built.

1- Navigate to Menu > PeopleTools > Search Framework > Administration > Deploy Search Objects and deploy index EP_PO_PURCHASE_ORDERS.
2- Navigate to Menu > PeopleTools > Utilities > Manage Configurable Search.
3- Search for and add configuration to Content Reference Purchasing > Purchase Orders > Review PO Information > Purchase Orders.
4- Create 2 configurations, 1 with Standard Search and another with Keyword Search, in such way that the Keyword Search is the most recent.
5- Navigate to Menu > Purchasing > Purchase Orders > Review PO Information > Purchase Orders.
    Note that the configuration with Keyword Search is selected and displayed as Search Criteria.
6- Attempt to perform a Search.
7- Observe the error in the browser:

Search Definition "" is not Deployed. (280,261)
The Search Definition must be deployed and indexed to display the results.
