Symptoms
When the user attempts to assign an advisor, the following error occurred.
You are not allowed to update your own data.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Navigate to Main Menu > Records and Enrollment > Student Background Information > Student Advisor and search for a student
- Use the lookup to populate the Academic Career and Academic Program fields
- To populate the Academic Advisor field, first click the lookup, then click Search with no parameters entered.
- From the list of search results, click the Select button next to an advisor
- Click Save and the error occurs.
