Correct ISIR Records Displays 'Warning - Parent's number in family cannot be blank. (14410,6)' And Correction Status Changes Back to 'Pending' - After Attempting to Update the Status to 'Send' and Save the Change
(Doc ID 3071179.1)
Last updated on FEBRUARY 25, 2025
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
On the Correct ISIR component for Aid Years 2025 and 2026, after updating the Correction Status field to 'Send Correction(s)' and attempting to save the change, the page displays the following message and the Correction Status reverts back to 'Pending'.
Warning -- Parent's number in family cannot be blank. (14410,6)
The Parent's number in family cannot be blank when the student's dependency status is 'Dependent' and has no dependency override specified.
OPERATOR ACTION: Supply a value for the parent's number in family; OR specify a dependency override and change the student's dependency status. Resubmit correction.
The issue is similar to the previous one documented in Note 3015132.1; however, unlike the previous issue, the current issue only occurs specifically when updating the Correction Status to 'Send'. Saving other changes, including invoking 'Calc SAI', does not produce the message. The issue may also occur in only a subset of cases with the blank family size and not every case.
This edit is unexpected, as the parent family size can be reported as blank starting in Aid Year 2025, as long as the number in family can be verified from the number of exemptions in the Federal Tax Information (FTI).
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Navigate to Financial Aid > Federal Application Data > Correct ISIR Records.
- Retrieve a record for a Dependent student with the Parent Information tab showing the Family Size field blank but exemptions reported in the FTI section.
- Update one or more correctable fields and set Correction Status to 'Send'.
- Click 'Save' and note the message displayed; then click 'Ok' through the message and note the Correction Status is set back to 'Pending'.
Changes
The issue is seen for Aid Year 2026 after applying the fix for <Bug 37050706> - 2025-2026 ISIR CORRECTIONS UPDATE.
For Aid Year 2025, the issue will be seen once the ability to send Corrections for this Aid Year is reinstated. Currently, most customers will see a different message preventing the Correction Status for being updated on a 2025 ISIR, however Beta Testing schools who have received the new code in advance as a workaround will see the message when updating 2025 records.
