Invalid Warning Message in HSA enrollment: "Your annual contribution cannot exceed $0" (Doc ID 3071335.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 10, 2025

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Benefits Administration - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

During an open Benefit Admin Event, if an employee attempts to change an existing Annual HSA election amount before submitting the event, they encounter an error message stating that the amount exceeds the $0 maximum.
The employee can still press "Done" to bypass the error, and the new amount will be saved, though the warning message persists. This issue does not occur when the employee first enters a contribution for a waived HSA, but it appears when attempting to change that contribution value the next time they access the tile.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Employee Self-Service > Open Enrollment > HSA tile.
  2. Enter the amount A1 for the HSA Plan and click Done.
  3. Click on the HSA tile again and update the amount to A2. Click Done.
  4. A Warning message will appear, but the amount will still be saved: "Your contribution of A2 is greater than the maximum that you can contribute to this plan. Your annual contribution cannot exceed $0."
