Symptoms

Please Note: Although the information below may still be an issue in some instances, the advent of Component Lockdown Configuration may be used to resolve many of these scenarios and avoid customizations. 
                   Also, there have been many changes to the code since Version 7.5 but the information below may still be useful in certain circumstances.
                   The warnings are real.  Entering data during a Payroll Calculation or Confirmation can affect the outcome of the payroll calculation.


Pay calc error message: "Fed Tax Data Not Found."  Users doing data entry in Payroll while the paycalc was running caused problem.

Other reported symptoms have included 805 duplicate insert errors (unique constraint violated), corruption of payroll data including paysheets, and changes to employees' payroll calculation and checks.
One customer recently found that marking employees Not OK to Pay while Paycalc was running caused all ceiling taxes (unemployment, disability, etc.) to be overwithheld for not only the affected employee, but also for all of the remaining employees in the paygroup.
