Goal

With the release of HRMS 8.0, Self Service functionality was greatly improved but at the same time a new schema for row level security was implemented for Manager. When using the online system (not self-service), row level security is based on the department security tree. If a user has been granted access to a department through their Row Level Security Primary class then they can access the data for employees in that department. For the Self-Service though, a Manager is not restricted to only the department security tree. There are a total of four different types of Security. There is security based on Manager ID, Supervisor ID, Report to ID and of course Department Security Tree.
