Symptoms

Customer had Performance Monitor setup on both, monitoring and monitored systems. He wanted to stop the Performance Monitor so he set the Monitor URL to "NONE" in the Global Administration page.  After this change, the WebServer logs showed entries like the ones below:

[3/17/04 8:23:26:065 EST] 55ec95de WebGroup      I SRVE0180I: [Portal] [/]
[Servlet.LOG]: Monitor: not activated
[3/17/04 8:23:32:302 EST] 559e95de WebGroup      I SRVE0180I: [Portal] [/]
[Servlet.LOG]: Monitor: not activated
[3/17/04 8:23:32:443 EST] 558895de WebGroup      I SRVE0180I: [Portal] [/]
[Servlet.LOG]: Monitor: not activated
[3/17/04 8:23:41:826 EST] 55e795de WebGroup      I SRVE0180I: [Portal] [/]
[Servlet.LOG]: Monitor: not activated

Every  few seconds 2 messages or so.  How to shutdown Performance Monitor? There's no option to remove the PPMI URL on the PIA pages.
