Symptoms

HRMS 8.9 introduces effective date processing for many employee and dependent characteristics.

One of these is the Employee Smoker Status. There are two records involved: PERS_DATA_EFFDT and PERS_SMOKER. The SMOKER_DT field on PERS_SMOKER must be less than or equal to the EFFDT value on PERS_DATA_EFFDT for BenAdmin and Payroll to select the correct smoker or nonsmoker status.
