E-LDAP/AS - Logon Fails Intermittently For LDAP Authenticated Users, Signon Peoplecode Is Not Executed

Users logging onto the Application see authentication and not authorized for this page errors. Some users can logon and others cannot. Closer inspection shown that signon peoplecode is not executed on some PSAPPSRV servers. Typically this problem occurs on Windows servers, where not all PSAPPSRV servers will be active if load on the Application is low. If SQL tracing is enabled you might also observe errors in the PSAPPSRV SQL trace pointing to a broken Oracle DB connection. Errors such as ORA 3113 due to firewall time-outs, database crash, database restarts, etc. Users whom have already logged on see no problems with the Application. The resolution to the problem appears to be to restart Appserver Domains.
