Symptoms

T&L Approve Time for Time Reporters search record needs to be ordered by lastname in order to provide quick review, as well as the Timesheet Summary page.

The Function Get_Person_Name from the funclib_name.person_name -- field formula, pulls in data that is by first name consequently ordered by first name rather than last name. For Payroll Departments that need to approve time and do it by last name, this is very cumbersome. Also, the middle initilal needs to be included in the search to distinguish employees/students that are to be approved. Here is the sql view that is processed to pull in the data:

SELECT A.COUNTRY_NM_FORMAT
,A.FIRST_NAME
,A.LAST_NAME
,A.NAME_INITIALS
,A.NAME_PREFIX
,A.NAME_SUFFIX
,A.NAME_ROYAL_PREFIX
,A.NAME_ROYAL_SUFFIX
,A.NAME_TITLE
,A.SECOND_LAST_NAME
,A.PREF_FIRST_NAME
,A.NAME_DISPLAY
FROM PS_NAMES A
WHERE EMPLID = :1
AND NAME_TYPE = 'PRI'
AND EFFDT = (
SELECT MAX(B.EFFDT)
FROM PS_NAMES B
WHERE A.EMPLID = B.EMPLID
AND B.NAME_TYPE = 'PRI'
AND B.EFFDT <= %DateIn(:2))

Also, T&L departments would like to see the person_name.name format changed BACK to how it was in version 8.0. The change of the format of the person_name.name field also creates issues with the reporting of data, specifically the TL001.sqr report (HD67374). This ticket will be attached to a GSC case for further review/analysis by PeopleSoft.
