The customer has an external Single Signon setup where the user accesses the PeopleSoft application via a URL. Webgate running on Sun One Web server intercepts the request and forwards to IIS server running another webgate and a login.asp page. The user is challenged to enter their username and password. Once user provides credentials, AAA server performs authentication and Webgate returns the user's DN in the HTTP header information.
PeopleTools picks up the username from the DN and validates from its own users table. Then, the user is greeted with a successful display of the application page.
When a user authenticates into PeopleSoft there is a 60 to 70 second delay introduced after a successful
authentication. This can be reproduced on demand. Without the webgate, this behavior does not occur.
