Goal

A third party target of a Peoplesoft Integration Broker outbound integration via HTTP Target Connector (HTTPTARGET) uses the HTTP Basic Authentication scheme, which requires passing username and password in HTTP header in a particular format, otherwise all connection attempts fail.

(Note: one of possible error messages is java.net.SocketException: socket closed (code=0))

How to configure or program the HTTPTARGET connector to pass HTTP Basic Authentication username and password.
