When you start your WebLogic Server as a Windows Service, the service does not start. The error(s) you receive, may vary.

You may get an error such as:

Could not start the PEOPLESOFT-PIA service on Local Computer.
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.

If you view messages using the Windows Event Viewer, you may see one of these errors:

The PEOPLESOFT-PIA service terminated unexpectedly

beasvc.exe - Application Error: The instruction at "0x7c82c842" referenced memory at "0x000000000". The memory could not be read

The WebLogic NTService log may show that the server startup is hanging at this statement:

[Mon Oct 08 07:15:36 2007] [I] [StartJVM] Parsing JVM Arguments

In some cases, no NTService log is generated

Uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows Service, does not correct the issue.
