E-PORTAL: After Adding New MIME type in web.xml Portal is not Responding (Doc ID 783958.1)

We modified our web.xml according to 664925.1 to add compatibility with Office 2007 file types. After the modification, the web server restarts no problem. But for some reason, the portal is not coming up.
