E-REN: When Using REN Functionality on IE7 Browser, get Certificate Error Messages and "Unable to connect to the RenServer" Error (Doc ID 800841.1)

When using any REN functionality such as running a report to window or running a REN server ping test, the IE7 browser displays a message that there is a problem with the website's security certificate.

You may also receive a pop-up window with message "Unable to Connect to RenServer"

1. Open IE7 browser
2. Run a report to window (or run any other process requiring REN functionality)
3. You may receive message "There is a problem with this website's security certificate" or this message may be displayed at top of page:
"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors. Click here for options."
4. You may also receive a pop-up message with error "Unable to connect to the Ren Server".

If running a report to window using a browser other than IE7, you get a pop-up message about certificate mismatch, but you are able to click 'ok' and still get the report. When using browser other than IE7, any report run after the initial pop-up message, will work without the pop-up warning.
