Loan origination Fails with Error 153 'Subscript out of range' in FAPLBOG1 Cobol Log File (Doc ID 805763.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to run loan origination, the process fails, with an error like the following displayed in the FAPLBOG1 Cobol log file:

As indicated, the path preceding FAPLBOG1.gnt will vary depending on the location of the cblbin in each environment. The line number at the end of the message could also vary.

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > Loans > Process Loans > Loan Origination and run the process.
  2. Click link to Process Monitor and note when the instance ends in Error status.
  3. Click the 'details' link for the instance, then the link that says 'View Log/Trace', then the link to the .log file in the file list, and note the error message.
