WebLogic is running out of memory in environments where users are frequently uploading and viewing large attachments.
The specific "Out Of Memory" message, that is logged, will vary depending on the platform:
On Windows and Linux platforms, you may see a message similar to this, in file PIA_weblogic.log:
On AIX platforms, the web server will create heapdump's and javacores and you will see a message like this, in file PIA_stderr.log:
JVMDG315: JVM Requesting Heap dump file
JVMDG318: Heap dump file written to /peoplesoft/webserv/PEOPLESOFT/heapdump156102.1246045195.phd
JVMDG303: JVM Requesting Java core file
JVMDG304: Java core file written to /peoplesoft/webserv/PEOPLESOFT/javacore156102.1246045198.txt
JVMDG274: Dump Handler has Processed OutOfMemory.
JVMST109: Insufficient space in Javaheap to satisfy allocation request
If a javacore file is created (typically created for AIX), it may show that that plenty of the heap space is free at time of "out of memory" error:
1STHEAPALLOC Bytes of Heap Space Allocated: 1ffefa00
If verbose garbage collection is enabled (see document 759137.1), it also shows that plenty of the heap is available at time of "out of memory" error.
