CRM: ACCESSING "MY WORKLIST" IS TIMING OUT or Deadlock Error

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Worklists are taking very long to open or they just timeout. OR Users receive dead lock error messages when creating/updating cases.
If users cannot get to their worklists they cannot proceed with their work, mark their cases, emails done or continue working them.
Sequence of events:
1. Click My Worklist
2. Wait for 15-20 minutes for worklist to load
3. It will either timeout or load after a long time
What is working:
Everything else in the application is working fine - no performance issues. Only the worklist takes a longer time.
