401k Deductions Exceed the 402g Limit if the Check Pay End Dates have Different Calendar Year (Doc ID 973675.1)

Symptoms

Find that an employee that has previously reached the 402g limit is allowed further deductions on a pay check with a pay end date of 1/2/2010 and pay check date of 12/31/2009.


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Set up the Balance Id CY to use check date to accumulate balances, Navigation Setup HRMS > Production Related > Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing Controls > Balance Id table

2. Set Pay End date to 1/2/2010 and check date to 12/31/2009 for the last pay period of the year, Navigation Setup HRMS > Production Related > Payroll for North America > Pay Calendar Table

3. Set employee Balance to exceed 402g limit of 16,500 prior to last pay period, Navigation Payroll for North America > Periodic Payroll Events USA > Balance Adjustments > Deductions

4. Run Payroll Pay Calculation for 1/2/2010, Navigation Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing USA > Produce Payroll > Calculate Pay
