Japan Add-On Localizations (PatchB Core Fin & Fixed Assets) (Doc ID 839851.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

This note introduces the Add-On Localizations available for Japan (PatchB Core Fin & Fixed Assets).

If you are using R12.2, please refer to 1606438.1.

 

Patch B Core Fin is applicable to R12.0.5 or later version.
Patch B FA is applicable to R12.1.1 or later version.
The latest certified version for Patch B Core Fin is R12.1.3.
The latest certified version for Patch B FA is R12.1.3.

Declaration

Japan Add-on Localizations delivered by Oracle Japan consists of several functions which cover requirements of usability improvements, implementation of Japan Add-on Localizations is not mandatory for all customers.
Please refer to Function list on Notes 839851.1 in detail.

Japan Add-on Localizations , Patch B Core Fin and Patch B FA are not compulsory solutions to apply when Global customer implement EBS for Japan site.
Standard product have covered general functions as Product localizations for Japanese localization requirements.

The word, "Localizations" of Oracle E-Business Suite includes three types of solutions, that is "Product Localizations" "Add-on Localizations" , and "Partner Localizations".

Customer who has software license of Oracle E-Business Suite can use "Product Localizations" without any charge and Product Localizations enables Legal Compliance of countries.
Please refer to E-Business Suite Globalization Center (Doc ID 973912.1) regarding the definition of each localizations, and details of Product Localizations.

Japan Add-on Localizations has two restrictions as follow.
1. Some DFFs (Descriptive Flex Field) are reserved for some functions.
2. AFF (Accounting Flex Fields) structure may have an influence on the design.

For above restrictions, Oracle Japan delivers this Japan Add-on Localizations as controlled release.
Oracle Japan's approval is necessary to use Add-on Localizations patches downloads are being protected by password, and  approval can be permitted in case customer satisfies any condition of following , and then password is provided to download patches.
1. Oracle Japan consultant who has deep knowledge will join to customer implementation project.
2. Member of the customer implementation project will take the specific training course which is delivered by Oracle Japan.
(This training course is conducted only in Japanese at Japan, and all deliverable is provided in Japanese)

Please confirm these restrictions and let us know again if you would like to use Japan Add-on Localizations.
As Japan specific operations and approval flows need to be established, please raise service request for more details, we will inform you of necessary information in addition.
