Purpose

Siebel 8.1 introduces the ability to add a salt value to passwords.  This enhancement required a modification to the security adapter API and the underlying user information structures.  These changes must be taken into account when developing or deploying a custom security adapter into a 8.1 environment.

Scope

This article is intended for Siebel developers using the Siebel Security Adapter Software Developer's Kit on Siebel 8.1 and later versions.
