ConflictAutoResolve does not Work for ProductConfigurator Web Service, UpdateConfiguration (Doc ID 1092677.1)

Last updated on APRIL 18, 2025

Applies to:

Siebel eConfigurator - Version 8.0 SIA [20405] to 8.1.1.9 [23016] [Release V8]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

WebService (WS) ProductConfigurator, operation UpdateConfiguration has input parameter ConflictAutoResolve, which can be set to Proceed or Undo to automatically resolve conflicts that could appear with this update.

ConflictAutoResolve set to Proceed does not work.
What is the reason for this?

Example:

  1. Product definition:
    andi2 (root)
    andi3 (child item)
    andi4 (child item)
    Rule: andi3 excludes andi4

  2. Quote definition:
A quote has a root line item andi2 with one user selected child item andi

  3. WS testcase:
WS ProductConfigurator.UpdateConfiguration tries to add andi4 to the quote item. This will result in a conflict because of upper rule and existing child item andi3 in the quote. In the eConfigurator UI this is resolved by showing the conflict page and Proceed/Undo options. For the WS input defines tag ConflictAutoResolve which needs to be set to Proceed or Undo.

  4. Result: "Proceed" is not working as expected. andi3 is not replaced by andi4. Actually the system shows the behavior of option Undo.
