Upgrade Promotion Fails For Attributes (Doc ID 1103878.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 07, 2018

Applies to:

Siebel eConfigurator - Version 7.0.4.303 FINS [14186] to 18.11 [Release V7 to V17]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Following are the promotion structures:

Promotion 1
Product 1 Min, Max, Default {1, 1, 1}

Promotion 2
Product 2 Min, Max, Default {1, 1, 1}

Some Attributes were added to a class and the class was added to the Promotion under Admin - Product > Product Definition:

Promotion 1 has Attribute 1 and Attribute 2
Promotion 2 has Attribute 3 and Attribute 4

  The Promotion 1 is added to the Sales Order and Product 1 is added by default. Under Line Items > Attributes, both attributes have Action = Null.

Then ABO process is performed and under Installed Assets we hit Upgrade Promotion and select Promotion 2.

The Sales Order is created with the following:

Promotion 1 Delete
Product 1 Update
Promotion 2 Add
Product 2 Add

When we highlight Promotion 1 and check the attributes, they are both with Action = Delete.

When we highlight Promotion 2, none of the attributes are displayed.

We are testing this issue using 8.1.1.1 SIA with ACR 471. We have also tested it using 8.2 with ACR 471.

Is this the expected behavior or is it considered a defect?

Is it ok to add a class directly to a Promotion?
