Unable To Configure The Gateway Server (SBL-SSS-00004 on siebctl.log) (Doc ID 1333760.1)

Symptoms


When running Siebel Enterprise configuration->Configuring new Gateway server, the following error occurs at the end of the configuration:


"Siebel Configuration Wizard Failed with Error. Please see log files for details"

 

The siebctl.log file created under gtwysrvr\log contains the error:

 



STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. install Siebel application software
2. run Siebel Enterprise configuration
3. choose Create new Configuration
4. choose Configure a new gateway server
5. specify user and password for the gateway account name
6. specify the gateway hostname
7. specify the port number
8. the error appears
