Product Promotion Compatibility Matrix is evaluated when Action Code is = ADD (Doc ID 1404951.1)

Symptoms


When a promotion is upgraded with a promotion which is excluded through a Compatibility rule  then eligibility status is set to N although one of the promotion has action code = Delete and one has action code = Add. Expected behavior is that Verify should consider the values of the action codes correctly and should filter out objects with action code = Delete. Therefore eligibility should not be N, but Y.


Steps to reproduce

  1. Create 4 simple products:B1, B2, P1, P2
  2. Create 2 new Product Classes named: PLAN1 and PAY2
  3. Go to Product Definitions, query for the 4 simple products created by step A and associate each of the 4 products with Class "PLAN1".
  4. Go to Product Classes and navigate into the workspace of  PAY2 class.
  5. Define the following relationship structure:
    1. Relationship Name: PLAN1
    2. Domain Type: Dynamic Class
    3. Product Class: PLAN1
    4. Min/Max/Def = 1
    5. Relationship Domain = B1, B2, P1, P2
  6. Create product called OFFER and associate it with 'PAY2' class
  7. Create two Bundle Promotions called 'Promo B' and 'Promo P'.
  8. Associate each of these promotions with product 'OFFER' and set the min/max/def cardinality = 1.
  9. For 'Promo B' drilldown into product OFFER and change domain of the relationship to B1 and B2
  10. For 'Promo P'   "                                                      "                                     "                    P1 and P2
  11. Make sure that the Min/Max/Def cardinality was set to 1.
  12. Create a Compatibility Matrix as following:
    1. Compatibility Type: Compatibility Rules
    2. Type: Excludes
    3. Subject Product: Promo B
    4. Object Product: Promo P
    5. Scope: Projected Asset Cache
  13. Go to Product Promotions and search for Promo P. Click on Upgrade Promotion tab and set the Original Promotion as Promo B.



Test-Case

  1. Go to Sales Order or Quote and create a new record
  2. Make sure to associate the Sales Order with a Customer, Business or Residential Account
  3. In the line items, add the Promo B product
  4. Generate the assets
  5. Via Account Summary View select menu option: 'Upgrade Promotion'
  6. It will show promotion Promo P
  7. Select it --> it will take you to Quotes or Sales Order screen again
  8. Check the action code: 
    1. Promo B = Delete, Eligibility = N 
    2. Promo P = Add,  Eligibility = Y
  9. Click on 'Verify' button
  10. -->> this will change Promo P Eligibility to N. This is the issue and is wrong!
Expected behavior is that the compatibility matrix understands the action code and sets Eligibility Flag to Y, since one product is deleted and the other one is added. However the Compatibility Matrix continues to set the eligibility flag to N for both products due the defined exclude rule.
