Gather MS Performance Monitor and Mini Dump Series During High CPU Period (Doc ID 1472859.1)

Purpose

  

These instructions are intended to help gather a set of information when you observe high CPU usage. The high CPU usage may be for a Siebel process (eg. siebmtshmw.exe), or it may be for a web server process, or browser process.  The data produced from these instructions will be;

 

The high level steps that you will follow are:

 

  1. Start MS Performance Monitor gathering performance data.
  2. Identify the process that is consuming the high CPU
  3. Setup a mini dump series in Microsoft Debug Diag
  4. Gather the data into a zip archive

 

 Oracle Siebel Support will analyse this data, with the following intention:

 

 

 

To perform these steps you will need:

  1. Microsoft Windows Performance Monitor (part of the Windows operating system)
  2. Microsoft Debug Diagnostics 1.2, which is available from the Microsoft Download Center:
