Campaign Wave Launch FTP Operation Is Failing (Doc ID 1479107.1)

Symptoms

The mechanism within the marketing wave launch workflow which is responsible for the FTP transfer of distribution lists associated to the campaign, was failing silently. There was no error message, however it was observed that the distribution lists were not being FTP'd as expected.
After more testing it was found that issue was happening when the name of the file contains Swedish accented characters.
