CIR and IMAP crash - JMail client in invalid state! (Doc ID 1488249.1)

Symptoms

The customer was using 8.1.1.4 SIA [21225] and trying to setup email response with the IMAP/SMTP driver to process inbound emails.

They were using a Linux platform and testing without SSL. When the Response Group is started the CIR process crashes with the following call stack:
