On Siebel 188.8.131.52 enterprise application (call-center) customer using Siebel outbound communications for sending several outbound emails through workflow policies, eMail manager, eMail response, F9, etc.
Recently it was found that there was a performance deterioration in outbound communications - emails being sent by the Communication Outbound Manager.
Upon investigating we found Communication outbound manager tasks are blocking each other, with wait type PAGELATCH_UP and taking some time to clear these blocks on the database and causing delaying in outbound communications. These locks are due to the following query that communications outbound manager is using.
CONVERT (VARCHAR (10),T1.LAST_UPD, 101) + ' ' + CONVERT (VARCHAR (10),T1.LAST_UPD, 8),
CONVERT (VARCHAR (10),T1.CREATED, 101) + ' ' + CONVERT (VARCHAR (10),T1.CREATED, 8),
OPTION (FAST 40)
We are wondering how these records are creating into this table and we can see per day approximately 10,000 records creating into this table and we do not see any triggers on this table against policies Campaign Offer Message Tracking – Delivered and Campaign Offer Message Tracking – Failed.
