Goal

Qn1: Why is opatch failing to install a Quick Fix (QF) for the Siebel Gateway when the Siebel Gateway is installed separately to the Siebel Server?

Opatch is failing with the following message:

 
Qn2: When this error occurs, is it a safe workaround to not install the Quick Fix on the Siebel Gateway Server?
 
Qn3: How can we tell if a Siebel Quick Fix (for Siebel 8.1.1.8 and higher fix packs) that fails with this error message is required to be installed on the Siebel Gateway Server?
