User Preferences Not Saved in Open UI (Doc ID 1564173.1)

Siebel CRM - Version 8.1.1.9 [23016] and later

Symptoms

In Siebel Open UI (OUI), Navigation Control, Theme and Startup Screen values are NOT updated as per the last session.

In addition, the tab layout is not saved after making changes in User Preferences.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

Scenario I
1. Launch the Siebel Open UI application.
2. Go to Tools > User Preferences > Behavior.
3. Update the following fields:
   a. Navigation Control
   b. Theme
   c. Startup Screen.

4. Click on the Internet Explorer close (X) button.
5. Open a new session.


Result: The User Preferences for the behavior are not saved.

Scenario II
1. Launch  a new Siebel Open UI session.
2. Go to Tools > User Preferences > Tab Layout.
3. Uncheck the Hide box on one of the Screens.
4. Go to Menu > Save Record.


Result: The User Preferences for the Tab Layout are not saved.

 

Scenario III

1. Launch the Siebel Open UI application.
2. Go to Tools > User Preferences > Tab Layout
3. Modify any record.
4. Save the changes.
5. Click on the Internet Explorer close (X) button.
6. Open a new session.

Result: The Tab Layout change has not been saved.

Scenario IV
 

1. Launch the Siebel Open UI application running in Portlet mode.

2. Make sure the top menu does not show.

3. Go to Tools > User Preferences > Tab Layout

4. Modify any record and save the changes.

5. Notice how the user is not able to log out of the Application.

Result: User preferences that were changed have not been saved.
