Symbolic URL IFrame does not unload when the user leaves the view (Doc ID 1566497.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 27, 2019

Applies to:

Siebel Tools - Version [23021] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Customer Statement:
An external application has been embedded into a Siebel view through Symbolic URL configuration with IFrame disposition. The application detects when the IFrame is unloaded and prompts the user to save the changes. This worked fine in Siebel but fails in Siebel

Expected Behavior:
When the user navigates away from the Siebel view that contains the Symbolic URL frame, the external application should prompt the user to save the changes.

At process level, the Siebel application should remove the IFrame that contains the external application, and the application should get unloaded.

Actual Behavior:
When navigating away, no prompt does appear. Only when logging off the application, the prompt is being triggered as the external application is about to be unloaded then.

By following these steps the issue can be reproduced:

A. Configuration:

1. Set up a Symbolic URL for embedding an external application with IFrame disposition.

2. Start the client and navigate to the view that contains the Symbolic URL. Verify that the external application is executing.

3. Navigate to a different view.
