Ddlsync Fails On - DESC Index Created as ASC order (Doc ID 1570428.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 01, 2019

Applies to:

Siebel System Software - Version [23021] to [23021] [Release V8]
Siebel CRM - Version SIA [23021] to SIA [23021] [Release V8]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

This behavior occurs in versions.

The ddlsync is not creating indexes in correct order. All the DESC indexes are getting created with ASC order even after using /9 option.

Steps to Reproduce
The issue can be reproduced as follows:
1. In Siebel Tools create an index. Then add to this index a column and set up sort order as DESC.
2. Go to dbsrvr/oracle and open file driver_ddlsync.ucf. For each ddlimp command, add the option /9 Y at the end of the command; save the file.
3  Then run the DB config wizard > DB utilities > apply schema changes to synchronize logical and physical schemas.
4. Notice that the index created does not contain the column in DESC order, but ASC.

Due to this issue, the logical and physical schemas are out of sync and all the indexes are created in ASC order. In addition, there may be related performance issues in the application.
