Severe Navigation Problems With Next Record and Previous Record in Open UI (SBL-DAT-00381) (Doc ID 1571533.1)

Symptoms

The customer is using Siebel version 8.1.1.10 [23021] with Branch QF [0102002] and has severe problems with the navigation through the data records with the buttons "Next Record" and "Previous Record".

The navigation doesn't work correctly in every screen, which customer has tested. Furthermore there are different types of incorrect behaviour. One of them leads to loss of data!

REPLICATION STEPS:
================
A) First issue:
1. Login to the Siebel application and navigate to Accounts > My Accounts.
2. Open the first record by clicking on the account name hyperlink.
3. Press Button “Next Record”. The next record is opened.
4. Press Button “Next Record” to navigate to the third record.
5. The error message “A record that contains identical values to the record you have created already exists. If you would like to enter a new record, please ensure that the field values are
unique. (SBL-DAT-00381)” appears.
6. Press the button “OK” to close the error message.
7. Press Button “Next Record” to navigate to the third record once again.
8. The error message “A record that contains identical values to the record you have created already exists. If you would like to enter a new record, please ensure that the field values are
unique. (SBL-DAT-00381)” appears again.
9. Press the button “OK” to close the error message.
10. Try to leave data record with clicking on the link to the account list. You get the error message “A record that contains identical values to the record you have created already exists. If you would like to enter a new record, please ensure that the field values are unique. (SBL-DAT-00381)” again.
11. Press the button “OK” to close the error message.
12. Try to escape from this record with button “Esc”. There is no reaction from the Siebel application.
13. Change the account name, because of the error message you are not able to leave the data record.
14. Re-open the account list “My Accounts”. You will notice that one of the account records is overwritten.

B) Second issue:
1. Login to the Siebel application and navigate to Activities > My Activities.
2. Drill-down on the Type hyperlink of the fifth activity record.
3. Press Button “Next Record”. The sixth record is opened.
4. Press Button “Next Record” to navigate to the seventh record.
5. There is NO REACTION from user interface, i.e. no hour glass or error message.
6. Press Button “Next Record” to navigate to the seventh record again:
7. There is NO REACTION from user interface no hour glass or error message. The interface seemed to be freezed.
8. Press Button “Next Record” to navigate to the seventh record some more times:
9. There is NO REACTION from user interface no hour glass or error message. The interface seemed to be freezed.
10. Press Button “Previous Record” to navigate back to the fifth record.
11. The application jumps to the fourth record instead of the fifth record.

Due to the encountered issues the biggest problem for the customer is the loss of data, when the error with the message to SBL-DAT-00381 occurs.
