Email Marketing Server Doesn't Store A Copy Of The Email Send (Doc ID 1573076.1)

Symptoms

Customer is migrating Siebel Marketing from 7.5 to 8.1.1.7. In Siebel 7.5 the customer was using Communication Outbound Manager to send the emails.

They configured the Communication Outbound Manager with some parameters with the aim to store the emails sent to the contacts, a real copy. These parameters were Save Sent Messages = TRUE and Sent Email Directory = <file system path>. In the filesystem path you could find all the emails sent via the marketing campaigns and you could open them using the Outlook Express for example, as the emails are in .eml format.

Now with Siebel 8.1.1.7 the Communication Outbound Manager is not used anymore and it has been replaced by Email Marketing Server.
