Applies to:
Siebel CRM - Version 8.1 [21039] and laterMicrosoft Windows x64 (64-bit) - OS Version: 7
Symptoms
On the Windows 7 64-bit version, the IE8 icon on the taskbar shown below launches IE8 32-bit version by default.
Depending on the settings, IE10 may be installed accidentally to replace IE8. If this PC still connects to the object manager in High Interactivity (HI) mode, IE10 needs to be uninstalled as it does not support HI mode. After IE10 is uninstalled, however, the web client cannot start up and show the following error message when IE8 is launched from the icon on the taskbar, even if all the settings are correct.
“Your version of the Siebel High Interactivity Framework for IE, required for use of this Siebel application, may not be current. In order to download a current version of the Siebel High Interactivity Framework, please ensure that your browser security settings are correct and then log in to the application again. Consult your system administrator for details about the Siebel High Interactivity Framework and correct browser settings.”
