Status Field of Root Product Line Item is not updated when using the EAI Siebel Adapter 'Upsert' Method

Business requirement is to update the Status field of the Order Header, Line Item Root Product, Line Item Child Product through an Inbound Webservice.
To achieve this, a custom IO, a custom Business Service and an Inbound Webservice is created. The Webservice invokes the Business Service to update the status.
1. The Order Header status is getting updated correctly.
2. The Line Item Child Product status is getting updated correctly.
3. The corresponding fields of Line Item Root Product such as description is getting updated correctly.
4. ONLY the STATUS of the Line Item Root Product is not getting updated at all.
The same was tested with OOTB Integration Object 'Order Entry' and the vanilla EAI Siebel Adapter Business Service and the issues was replicated.
