SSL Configuration For LDAP (Doc ID 1585791.1)

Symptoms

 

On : 8.0.0.11 SIA[20440] version, Security / Authentication

When attempting to configure Siebel with SSL and LDAP
the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
Ldap Utility: BindAsAppUser failed for some unknown reasons, please check the parameters and contact your directory server administrator, Timed out


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Configure LDAP
2. Configure SSL
3. Run Siebel

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot use Siebel.

Furthermore, when customer tried to add certificates in the kdb files from the command line, following error was found with certificates:

"An attempt to store the certificate has failed. All the signer certificates must exist in the key database"

But when they tried to import the same certificates from the GUI ikeyman from Windows, they were able to import them and use the keys.
